Building a custom sequence
Click notes on the keyboard below to add them to your sequence, in the order you click them.
Back removes the last note you added.
Play tone and Start Listening use whatever you've built so far, and stay disabled until you've added at least one note.
You can't add or remove notes while a tone is playing or the mic is listening — stop listening first to keep editing.
About Pitch Practice
Pitch Practice is a free ear-training tool for voice and instruments that helps you learn to match pitches accurately. Sing or play a note into your microphone and a tuner-style needle shows you exactly how sharp or flat you are, in real time. Everything runs in your browser — your audio is analyzed on your device and is never recorded, uploaded, or stored anywhere.
Practice modes
Single Note — match one random target note at a time.
Phrase — match a short melodic pattern one note at a time, either auto-generated or built yourself as a Custom sequence.
Tuner — no target at all; see live sharp/flat/in-tune feedback on whatever you're singing or playing, like a standalone chromatic tuner.
Difficulty
Easy/Medium/Hard controls both how wide the gauge's "in tune" tolerance zone is and how long you need to hold a pitch steady before it counts as a match.
Practice range
Pick a Voice Type preset (Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Soprano) or set your own Low/High notes manually to focus practice on your comfortable range.
Playing a transposing instrument? Pick it from the Instrument list in place of Concert Pitch. A Bb Trumpet's written C, for example, actually sounds a concert Bb — picking your instrument keeps the staff, target note name, and Low/High range all consistent with your own written part, while the keyboard and the pitch you actually need to sing or play stay on real concert pitch throughout.
Auto-play & Auto-advance
Auto-play plays the target tone automatically whenever a new note comes up. Auto-advance moves on to a new target automatically once you've matched it, instead of waiting for you to click Next.
Session stats
Tracks Notes Attempted, % In Tune, and your current/best streak for this session, plus an all-time best streak that persists across visits.
